Life in the Logo of Utah - Arches National Park

Arches National Park is the official postcard for the state of Utah. It’s famous Delicate Arch is plastered on just about every billboard, logo, and even license plates in Utah. And for good reason, this park is beautiful.

That being said, however, if you’re going to Moab already I would definitely check it out. If you’re looking for a place to spend a ton of time though, I would recommend Canyonlands over Arches.

Arches was gorgeous. There were some incredible sites and really interesting geological history there. But, the park is relatively small, and does not offer a ton of variability within its terrain.

If you’re crunched for time, Arches is great. You can see pretty much the entire park in a matter of a day (if you bring enough water) and it is a great stop of a road trip. If you’re planning on backpacking or camping, however, I would recommend exploring one of the many other National and State parks in the surrounding area.

Pro Tips:

  • Do make this a stop along a longer road trip, but maybe don't make this your entire trip

  • Bring lots of water and start any hikes early in the morning as this place gets incredibly hot during the day

  • Stop here if you are pressed for time and want to quickly see a National Park

  • I highly recommend setting up for some incredible star gazing, the view of the Milky Way here is unparalleled
